Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much notice do you need?

A. It is important to us to place a caregiver that best meets the needs of the client. That may take as little as a few days, but under certain circumstances it may be slightly longer.

Q. Does insurance cover the cost of non-medical home care?

A. Only certain long-term care insurance policies cover our services. Normally, health insurance policies do not cover our services.

Top

Q. Does Medicare or Medicaid cover the cost of home care?

A. Not at this time. Medicaid and Medicare do not cover non-medical home care services at this time.

Top

Q. What happens when the caregiver needs time off?

A. We send in a relief caregiver with similar experience to cover for the primary caregiver. The primary caregiver will be allowed to take time off as long as it does not interfere with the client's schedule or plans. It may be on weekends or a few days off after several weeks of work. Sometimes the caregiver prefers no regular time off. If the care-giver gets sick, we can replace them quickly. Once a caregiver is placed, the client is never left without constant care (exceptions when appropriate are short trips to the market or pharmacy).

Q. Do you offer short term care?

A. Our service is set up and priced to provide long term care. Typically, long-term care is four weeks or longer. We, however, can provide shorter assignments and respite care. We can provide as little as an hour each day or up to 24 hours per day.

Q. What if there is a couple living together?

A. Our base rates are for a single individual client. There is typically a thirty percent (30%) surcharge for an extra individual in the home regardless of the level of care, if any, the second person may require.

Top

Q. Will you provide care five days a week if the children can manage the care on the weekends?

A. Yes, absolutely. Our schedules are flexible to meet your needs.

Top

Q. Can I interview the caregivers first?

A. We insist on an introduction to our caregiver. A member of our management team will always introduce you to the caregiver on the first day of service. Our company is responsible for screening, hiring, managing and scheduling the caregivers. If a client wants to change caregivers for any reason, we will do so as deemed necessary at no extra cost until the client is perfectly satisfied.

Q. Do you accept payments weekly?

A. Our billing system is geared to biweekly intervals. A billing statement is sent out every other week.

Top
